Simply Me surprised me today and took me somewhere.
At first glance, you could say it was a visit to the past, but that is only the bigger picture.
We went to see that little girl who, once again, had begun to feel that she needed to present herself in the best possible way.
That she had to show the world she deserved attention. That what she truly longed for was someone who would simply see her as she was, without all the masks.
She had always been taught that attention and praise had to be earned. That she had to prove herself, show something, achieve something. And once again, she rushed ahead so quickly that, before she even realised it, she had lost herself.
Fortunately, she is no longer alone.
She has me.
And she has Simply Me.
We held her close and told her that we see her exactly as she is: wonderful, smiling, and always honest.
And although her honesty was not always seen as a strength in the past, today we assure her that it truly is.
Her greatest gift is that she does not know how to pretend.
She is honest, and she no longer has to stay quiet.
That is not a flaw. It is an extraordinary strength, especially when it comes with such kindness and empathy.
It was a deeply emotional meeting for the three of us.
There were tears, but only gentle ones now. No judgement. No blame.
It truly does not matter that you felt this way again and immediately began trying to fix everything.
It is completely natural.
But you will see, my dear — with time, it will happen less and less often.
