My Momentum. My Quantum Leap
I went to Momentum exhausted.
After the accident, selling the house, travelling, and months in which more had happened than I was sometimes able to process.
I knew what the event was meant to be.
MOMENTUM – Awaken what has been sleeping inside you.
But I wasn’t going there looking for a transformation.
I simply wanted to spend some time around women. Without having to explain why I wasn’t looking for another full-time job, why I didn’t want to go back to old patterns, and why I was choosing to invest in myself, my education, and building Simply Me.
For one day, I just wanted to be myself.
I bought the ticket about a week beforehand. I don’t like travelling to London alone, so even that was already a step outside my comfort zone.
But I went.
And once I got there, I surprised myself a little.
Instead of sitting somewhere on the side, I walked over to a table and asked if I could join them.
Then came the first exercise.
We were asked to describe the new version of ourselves and then introduce ourselves as that woman to the person sitting next to us.
I wrote about Simply Me. About being a blog author, mentoring women, and how my own journey and experiences could become something I share with others.
But the most important part was how I felt when I started introducing myself that way.
Joy. Satisfaction. Pride.
I wasn’t minimising what I was doing, and I wasn’t explaining myself.
And that was actually exactly why I had come.
Before I knew it, during the panel on relationships, I raised my hand.
Me.
I walked up to the microphone.
I don’t remember every word I said now. I remember my voice breaking, and I know what I desperately wanted those women to hear.
That not every relationship is meant to survive at any cost.
Sometimes it is only when we allow ourselves to consider that a relationship may not be for life that we begin to see what it may actually have been there to show us.
Mine showed me something very important.
I had never built a relationship with myself.
Writing this today, I understand something else too.
My need to tell other women that you can leave a relationship and still take something valuable from it was stronger in that moment than my fear of the microphone.
Then came the other modules, and right at the end, an exercise with archetypes.
And another surprise.
The Queen was stronger than the Prostitute.
For a long time, I had focused mainly on what I still needed to fix in myself.
But there I saw the opposite.
How much had already changed.
How differently I was choosing and making decisions, and how much more often I was doing what actually felt aligned with me.
At the very end, we were asked to share one thing we were taking away from Momentum.
And once again, I raised my hand.
Once again, I walked up to the microphone.
Only this time, I was confident.
With the energy of the Queen, I spoke about what I had just discovered during the archetype exercise.
My posture was different. My voice was different. My energy was different.
I could feel it in my whole body.
And most importantly, the women in that room could feel it too.
In one day, I walked up to the same microphone twice.
The first time with a breaking voice.
The second time standing there as a completely different version of myself.
Of course, that change hadn’t happened within a few hours.
Momentum simply allowed me to see what had already been happening inside me for a long time.
The next morning, I was frantically packing for a long-awaited break in Spain.
My flight was literally only a few hours away, and I still hadn’t packed.
And somewhere between the suitcase, the emotions from the day before and all that morning chaos, I realised something else.
There was one more word I could now add to the way I introduce myself.
Speaker.
Not “maybe one day I’ll become one.”
My first public speaking experience was already behind me.
Actually, two of them.
I already am one.
And here I can’t help going back to a certain story.
It came back to me a few years ago, when Simply Me – Po prostu Ja was still little more than a name and a feeling that I was supposed to step out into social media.
I didn’t yet know with what or why.
I was trying my hand at network marketing and created a Facebook group called Simply Me – Po prostu Ja.
That was when I remembered Fatima.
I even contacted the friend who had been there with me to make sure I was remembering the story correctly.
She remembered it exactly the same way.
I had recently gone through my divorce and was emotionally shattered.
In the evenings, our whole group would meet in the hotel lobby and share our experiences from the day.
I sat somewhere to the side and stayed quiet.
Eventually, the friend I was sharing a room with said that since I was too shy, she would tell them about me instead.
She said that I spoke beautifully, that I was wonderful to listen to, and that our evening conversations were very inspiring to her.
The man leading the group then said:
“Then Honorata will be a speaker.”
I smiled and completely ignored it because, given how much I disliked public speaking or standing out in a group, the word “speaker” sounded like a pretty good joke at the time.
Years later, I am standing in front of a group of women with a microphone in my hand.
Not once.
Twice in one day.
Sometimes someone sees something in us long before we are ready to believe it ourselves.
Today is 16 August. It has been about a month and a half since Momentum.
I am now part of the Women’s Business Academy, building Simply Me as a premium brand, and my blog finally has its own professional home.
I am a blog author.
I am a brand owner.
I am a mentor.
I am a speaker.
If I had to describe in my own words what a quantum leap means to me, something I had been reading about since the beginning of my journey back to myself, I would say that it doesn’t necessarily look like a sudden “wow” moment or something you can force or speed up whenever you want.
Sometimes you spend years building yourself piece by piece until one day you simply realise:
I already am her.
And today I can say that the women behind Momentum kept their promise.
Something that had been sleeping inside me for years was awakened.
I didn’t go there looking for transformation.
I went simply to be.
I had no script for that day, and maybe that is exactly why more happened than I ever could have planned.
Because we really don’t know what is waiting for us around the next corner.
And I want to leave a little more room for life to surprise me.
Today's affirmation:
“I trust what has already awakened within me. I don’t need to know what is waiting around the next corner. I open myself to life and allow it to surprise me.”
